at time t, we must have
s^2 + (vt)^2 = (ut)^2
(u^2 - v^2)t^2 = s^2
t = s/√(u^2-v^2)
s^2 + (vt)^2 = (ut)^2
(u^2 - v^2)t^2 = s^2
t = s/√(u^2-v^2)
