Each band member had 12 tickets to sell, Jamie sold 9 of his tickets Matt sold 6 of his tickets. Using fractions find the total number of tickets sold by Jamie & Matt

I don't see where you need to use fractions to find the total.

9 + 6 = 15

I have to tell the answer in terms of fractions. My doubt is whether it is 9/12 + 6/12 = 15/12 or 15/24 ?

9/24 + 6/24 = 15/24

The question doesn't state that the answer must be a fraction. PsyDAG is right. Together they sold 15 tickets.
