Right, though? I dropped out of public school in 6th grade and have been doing Connexus from 7th-9th. 7th was alright, and then 8th was slightly worse, and by this year, 9th, I've lost all connection with friends. Going back to public next year, because my grade is hemorrhaging due to sheer boredom and loneliness. I used to be a straight-A student. I totally agree with Shadilay. I spent about 75% of my day watching youtube or playing something. I moved and have no friends and the ones I am in contact with don't respond anymore.

And I don't know if this is true for anyone else but I've actually had "fun" cheating (mainly last year) because they told me they always caught the cheaters and I don't think they caught anyone.

it's ok guys, it gets better. life is worth living............ take it upon yourself to hang out with other people, don't always rely on institutions (not bashing public school) for something as important in life as socializing with friends. yes, public school helps, but once you get out of public school? then you're on your own. you have to try yourself to socialize and hang out with other peple.

though public school really helps with socialization, in my experience at least. if it helps you, then by all means go to it, it'll be of great help. but ultimately, at the end of the day, it's your own responsibility to make sure you're getting the right amount of socialization and hang-out time with your friends and peers and family

I feel all the Loneliness talk. My social life was already pretty rocky due to some mental health issues, but now that I've started doing online school I've pivoted downwards. I hardly talk to anyone or do anything, I usually just lay in bed and dissociate for half of the day before googling lesson answers.
I enrolled late, so I'm still catching up, but I have no motivation to finish things. I just want to sleep. The only actual break I get from working is therapy and that is just as miserable :/
I got a 504 plan recently, which is probably the most pathetic thing imaginable. I slept through the meeting about it too.

ABDB, and by the way I've been in Connexus for 2 years and I love it, it sure beats the old pencil and paper homeschool that I used to do. That killed my arm. Know I like school because I have a lot of friends. School is ( 00| (COOL) I am happy with my Connexus experience. It got me a cool new computer at least. I like Connexus because it is helping me learn things that I never learned with pencil and paper. I Love connexus sooo much it is sooo helpful. Connexus is okay I been here for 4 years now and I am super ready to go back to public school but mom and dad said NO. It can get a bit lonely some times but I have to admit its been a fun experience and I have learned a lot. And the Answers are still the same ABDB.

I do connections and like it. I still get the socializing and things like that, and in the private chats I have exchanged my phone #. I agree with Shadilay and all of these other people. Homeschooling really can ruin your social life. As much fun as it is to be able to play games and only do school for a small portion of the day, having no friends can be really hard. Im going back to school next year and im excited. Dont get me wrong, I like my teachers on Connections and the kids in the LiveLessons are really nice, but the social aspect is lacking. Good luck to all of you when you go back!!

i've been in connections for a few years now. i actually like it. when i was in regular school, it was rlly hard. i'm deaf w cochlear implants and it was hard for me to hear everyone when all they do is talk in the classroom while the teacher is talking. my anxiety was rlly bad as well and i had bad thoughts. i only had 2 friends irl, but they were always hanging out w other people and i had to sit w people i didn't know. i couldn't talk to them. ever since i switched to online, i've noticed i've gotten a lot better. i actually socialize well online than irl. i have tons of friends from discord and a few from connections. as for the hearing not well thing, i still have a bit of problems w that in live classes, but i can understand the teacher most of the time.
honestly it's different for everyone, but i prefer online school over regular school.

I personally love online school because i a, dont like socializing, b, find it awesome to be able to work ahead adn then not do school for a week, and c, dealt with stuff in brick and mortar schools that freaking sucks. Hello i agree with shadily i was an outstanding student but when i started online schooling my grade dropped at first i could not focus on school work at all, until i finally just started cheating oddly enough, my family has also been telling me to cheat, just so i can get good grades and i take less time, i miss my friends

I agree with shadily, I know nobody really cares about other people's opinion and are just bored so your reading everyone's life story. I went to public school until the end of 7th grade from covid. My mom has kept me homeschooled since but I lost all of my friends and I have really bad anxiety now, not sure why I do. Public school and the "friends" I had kinda screwed me up anyways but once they were out of my life I struggled a lot. I go to a homeschool thing now and I have friends again. This is my first year attending this school and it’s not bad. Teachers are nice but I suck at trying to focus and I get very bored with this work. I’ve lost most if not all of my friends and am now pretty much and outcast. I am thinking about going back in person but after this year I don’t know if I even can. Online school is perfect for me, I have extreme social anxiety and was not helped by the class I was stuck with my whole life. They made 2 teachers quit, almost 3.

In person school was far too stressful for me and I rarely had a grade above F.
I decided to change to online school, having enjoyed it during the pandemic and to be there for my autistic brother who couldn't read or add by one by 1st grade.

I've joined two D&D groups and my social skills have gotten much better but I definitely still hate talking to people I am not familiar with.
I've had two friends throughout my online years, one of them being my brother, but I still see him more as a friend. I've always had trouble making friends and keeping them or just making actually good friends, but they are real ones. Online schools actually giving me the chance to spend more time with them which is rad.
My grades are now C average and even if I have to cheat sometimes, I am super proud of myself.

I guess the trick is to be an introvert who only really likes having 1 or 2 very close friends, or just not needing to talk to people.
