I am writing a paper for my research class and I am not sure I am using the right word in the sentence below.

(This can include mental, physical, and emotional abuse that any member of a family conflicts on to another member of the family.)

I am not sure that “conflicts” is the correct word to use in this sentence, for some reason it just does not look right. Can someone please let me know what they think and if there is a better word to use, thank you.

That's not the correct use of "conflicts" as a verb. Here's a suggestion?

This can include mental, physical, and emotional abuse that any member of a family inflicts on another member of the family.

Thank both of you so much. That was the word I was trying to think of and conflicts was all I could come up with. Thank you so very much.
