How do the principles of convection, conduction, and radiation explain how the water in the saucepan gets hot?

one way to explain it is:
The radiation of the fire causes the saucepan to heat up. the conduction of the saucepan then helps to distribute the heat over the saucepan and to give heat to the water. the convection of the water helps distributing the heat within the water, till all the water is boiling
the other:
Convection relates because the boiling water is the convection currents, or the rising of heat and sinking of cold. Conduction is when something creates heat by touch. When the heat touches the pan it conducts heat and transfers to the water. and radiation... is a little harder to explain... When the heat get in the air it can radiate which is when heat is created without touch...
