At a party, Mrs Ong gave each pupil 5 nuggets and had 30 nuggets left. If she gave each pupil 6 nuggets, she would have 4 nuggets left. How many nuggets did Mrs Ong prepare for the party?

Let the number of students be x

number of nuggets = 5x + 30
or
number of nuggets = 6x + 4

6x+4 = 5x+30
x = 26

There were 26 students, so she neede
26(5) + 30 or 160 nuggets.
