                I need help solving this. I've never been really good with fractions, so, that's probably why.:
3p/8 + 7p/16 - 3/4 = 1/4 + p/16 + 1/2

        3p/8 + 7p/16 - 3/4 = 1/4 + p/16 + 1/2

    move all the ones with p to one side and the other fractions to the other so it becomes
3p/8 + 7p/16 - p/16 = 1/4 + 1/2 + 3/4
then change 3p/8 to 6p/16 by multiplying by 2 and 1/2 to 2/4 the same way.
6p/16 + 7p/16 - p/16 = 1/4 + 2/4 + 3/4
add both sides up
12p/16 = 6/4
isolate p
p = (6/4) x (16/12)
p = 2

3p/8 + 7p/16 - p/16 = 1/4 + 1/2 + 3/4
then change 3p/8 to 6p/16 by multiplying by 2 and 1/2 to 2/4 the same way.
6p/16 + 7p/16 - p/16 = 1/4 + 2/4 + 3/4
add both sides up
12p/16 = 6/4
isolate p
p = (6/4) x (16/12)
p = 2
