1. A right rectangular prism has a length of 15 millimeters, width of 3 millimeters, and height of 4 millimeters.

What is the surface area of the prism?

My answer: 234mm squared

2 x (15 x 3) + (15 x 4) + (3 x 4) = 234

2. A right rectangular prism has a length of 9.6 millimeters, width of 5 millimeters, and height of 7 millimeters.
What is the volume of the rectangular prism?

My Answer: 9.6 x 5 x 7 = 336

3. A figure has 8 sides; all sides meet at right angles. The left-most vertical side measures 31 meters. The lowermost horizontal side measures 69 meters. The right-most vertical side measures 31 meters. The upper right horizontal side measures 23 meters. The middle horizontal side measures 23 meters. The upper middle left vertical side measures 12 meters.

My Answer: 12 x 23 = 276

31 x 69 - 276 = 1863

4. When the temperature is 68°F, the speed of sound in air is approximately 343 meters per second. Approximately how many kilometers does sound travel in five seconds?
My Answer:

1.71500.

343 x 5 = 1715m. Sence 1km is equal to 1000m then:

1715/1000 = 1.71500

5. Find the area of the parallelogram.

A parallelogram has a lower side measuring 24 centimeters and a right side measuring 9 centimeters. A dashed vertical segment with endpoints on the upper and lower sides is 8 centimeters and meets the lower left vertex at a right angle.

My Answer: 192cm.

24 x 8 = 192

( I want to see if my work is correct )

#1 and #2 are correct
#3 I cannot follow your description. You say you have a figure with 8 sides, that would normally be an octagon
Then you say: all sides meet at right angles. This is not possible

#4 agree

#5, area of a parallelogram = base x height
= 24(8) = 192 , you had that
It looks like the 9 cm information was distracting data.
Okay. Thank you for checking! For question 3 is an image from the unit i was doing on connexus but i can't quite fully explain the shape. And i don't know if i'm allowed to post links on here for the image.
As a rule, you are not able to copy and past URLs on this forum.
However, you can get around it by either dropping the first part and
starting with "www." or else do this:

notice I left a space at the front, so if you copy and paste this, then delete
the space it will work.
It appears the algorithm set up by the administrator does not catch this
loophole.
Okay. Here's the image for question 3

Ok, got it
That is much easier than you think it is

Imagine the piece NOT cut out, you would have a rectangle of
69 by 31 m, for an area of 2139 m^2

now cut out the small rectangle of 23 by 12 m, which has an
area of 276 m^2

so the area of the remaining part = 2139 - 276 or
1863 m^2
