• Select one of the age groups chosen in Week Six. Decide on the child’s age, what level and stage he or she is at developmentally, and list some characteristics demonstrating the nature of the stage.
are they talking abnout Rapid body changes as puberty is in full swing. Very moody. Teens wonder if they are going to be normal. They are very sensitive to their changing body and often measure their physical appearance and skills against idealized images. This is especially true of girls, who tend to be less satisfied with their body image and most constantly want to lose weight. etc...
but is that developmentally, and list ofcharacteristics
is it suppose to be an*
During the early adolescence (ages 12-14) the teens are very moody. As puberty is in full swing they will experience rapid body changes. The teens are sensitive to their body as it changes. Girls tend to be less fulfilled about their body image. Most want to lose weight. A show begins to show concerns for an awareness of their body. This includes shyness, blushing, feelings of modesty and need for privacy. Also during this stage the teens are curious about sexual matters. Early adolescences would rather spend their time with friends than family. They will also need a hero or an adult to look up to today. These young adolescents may disagree with their parents. The adolescents want to take the opposite view on it to test the parent’s values. The adolescents will also be rude to their parents and throw away any jobbies that they liked in their childhood. The teens might experience in some risky behaviors such as drugs, sex, or smoking. The teens will also feel like nothing bad could happen to them. It is important to the young adolescent to fit in and not appear different from his/her peers. What the teens wear for clothes, hair styles also becomes very important.

Five Top Strategies to Keep Students Learning in a Calm Classroom Environment.( Keep the lesson moving)
would that work for Classroom Expectations and Procedures for Two Different Age Groups
Five Top Strategies to Keep Students Learning in a Calm Classroom Environment
Strategy number 5 – Keep the lesson moving.(Classroom Expectations and Procedures for Two Different Age Groups )
(Time-Management Strategies for Continuity) If you have a forty-five minute period, plan three different activities. Try to get them up out of their seats at least once during the class period. Those students with pent up energy will thank you for it
does that look ok? i am still lost sorry
ok i think i am getting it some what lol
i will list for the classroom expectations then Time-Management Strategies for Continuity can u see if i am correct plz
Keep the lesson moving= If you have a forty-five minute period, plan three different activities. Try to get them up out of their seats at least once during the class period. Those students with pent up energy will thank you for it.
Don’t lecture for the whole period= Students who are actively engaged in a learning
activity are generally not disrupting the class. Hands-on activities work great for vivacious classrooms.
Talk to your students= If you see them in the hall, in the cafeteria or at the grocery store, ask them how they are. If you see a student in the local newspaper, congratulate them. If they do something nice, tell them that you appreciate their kindness. This lets them know that you really do care about them.
When students are being disruptive by talking, poking, pulling or crumpling paper, go stand by them=This sends them a direct message to stop what they are doing. Most of the time they stop and get back to work
When you have stood by the student, talked to the student and kept them busy with lessons, and they still are disruptive, take them in the hallway.= Ask them, “Are you OK?” It has been my experience that they crumble and tell you that they had a fight with their parents, didn’t get up on time or are having other issues. If they are defiant, send them on to the principal.
i honestly don't think i am correct
would a Classroom Expectations and Procedures for Two Different Age Groups= be on time, no talking in class, being prepared, pay attention
when i say no talking during tests and quizzes for classroom expectations... would only talk when your addressed (would that would for time management)
sorry ms sue but i am not understanding this assignment correctly
do u think it is ok so far? and then should i talk about Understanding Diversity, Respectful Behavior, Health-enhancing Fitness, Understanding Physical Activity and Well Being, Learning Skills, and Physical Skill Development all for 4th graders?
it is in my own words so far i just have to do the others like Understanding Diversity, Respectful Behavior, Health-enhancing Fitness, Understanding Physical Activity and Well Being, Learning Skills, and Physical Skill Development all for 4th graders?
I choose fourth grade Physical Educational standards in my state which is Wisconsin.
Leading an Active Lifestyle
Performance standards
By the end of fourth grade the students will be able to identify several less violent to energetic, strong, and active physical activities that will provide their personal pleasure. The students will also be able to describe the healthful benefits that are from the physical activity. The students will also pick what physical activity they want to improve their skills and to maintain a great health.
Physical Skill Development
Performance standards
By the end of fourth grade the students will show progress on all movement. They will mature on skills like throwing and catching a ball as well as kicking a football. The students will also begin to show experience in specialized movement. Specialized movement could pass a basketball to a moving teammate.
Learning Skills
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
By the end of fourth grade the students will work on im[roving personal performance in specialized motor skills and fundamental skills. For example running, catching, and throwing. The students will also be able to apply and identify the critical elements of highly skilled performance to development. Finally, the students will be able to recognize and apply concepts that affect the quality of increasingly complex movement performance. An example of this could be constantly hitting a ball with the bat without missing.
Understanding Physical Activity and Well Being
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
By the end of fourth grade the student sill enjoy participating in a physical activity such as playing basketball.the students will also celebrate success and achievements as themselves and of others. Finally the students will use physical activity as a self-expression.

Respectful Behavior
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
By the end of forth grade the students will know the safety in each activity. The students will also be able to follow the activities rules and procedures with little reinforcement. The students will accept the teacher’s decision. The students will also be able to work with a partner to improve each other’s skills. For short periods of time the students will work independently
Understanding Diversity
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
During physical activity the students will explore ethnic and cultural self-awareness. The students will accept people from their different backgrounds and cultures. The can do this through dances and playing games.
can you help me answer these questions please. thanks
How might the state standards affect your planning and instruction for this subject? Provide an example of how you may implement one or two of these standards in the classroom
As a Physical Education teacher in the early grades, I need to work on all of these standards. I will have to place the student into a small group. Breaking the students up into a small group it will allow the students to get the many opportunities to participate. For example if they were playing softball. We would need a catcher, pitcher, someone to cover each base, shortstop, 3 outfielders, and a few substitutes to fill in others. The students should practice hitting baseballs or playing catch with others. I myself the teacher, will act as a coach. I will help each individual student improve their skills and weaknesses.
how does that sound. i am about 91 words short. can you help me with more ideas please.
how does this sound?
A lesson plan is effective if you determine the curriculm. We have to ask ourself what do you want the students to learn from this lesson. Is this lesson going to be fun and not boring? The lesson plan should explain what is needed for each lesson like supplies. You should also follow what you have already have planned but, you may also add to your lesson plan if it needs to be done.
would walk around the classroom every few minutes to see if the students need help. will that work?

Constructivism is a view of learning based on the belief that knowledge isn't a thing that can be simply given by the teacher at the front of the room to students in their desks. Rather, knowledge is constructed by learners through an active, mental process of development; learners are the builders and creators of meaning and knowledge. In a constructivist classroom there is a teacher’s aid. The teacher will be able to construct lessons with individuals or small groups. In a traditional classroom there is only a teacher. When in a traditional classroom the teacher will not be able to construct lessons with a small group instead the teacher has to do it as a class. The disadvantage of a traditional classroom is that there is only 1 teacher in the classroom. Having one teacher and a large classroom full of students the teacher cannot give them one-on-one attention.
I prefer the constructivist classroom because it is a student centered classroom. This type of classroom focuses on the students learning not the teacher learning.
any suggestions/

The disadvantage of a traditional classroom is that there is only 1 teacher in the classroom. Having one teacher and a large classroom full of students the teacher cannot give them one-on-one attention. The teacher should use cognitive terminology. Examples of cognitive terminology are using the words “analyze”, “create”, “predict”, and “classify.” Teachers should also allow wait time after posing questions
The Guiding Principles of Constructivism
Seek and value students' points of view
Assess student learning in the context of teaching
I prefer the constructivist classroom because it is a student centered classroom. This type of classroom focuses on the students learning not the teacher learning.
Perspectives on controversial topics:
1. Liberation pedagogy: Teachers should help to develop gcritical
consciousnessh among students.
a. Teachers should allow the students to bring their own experiences and
perspectives to the problems investigated in the class, with the aim of
having students come to a new understanding of their place in the
world. On this view, the classroom should not be seen as a world
separate from wider society, but as enmeshed and invested in the
problems of the social and political world.
b. Paulo Freire, The Pedagogy of the Oppressed
2. Civic humanism: Teachers should prepare students for democratic citizenship.
a. Teaching should prepare students for the responsibilities of active
citizenship. Teaching should be concerned, in part, with developing
moral virtues, such as religious and cultural tolerance, a sense of social
responsibility, etc.
b. Derek Bok, Our Underachieving Colleges
3. Academic detachment: Teachers should academicize.
a. Rather than discussing head on what should be done, the point of
academia and teaching is to inquire as to the origins of the controversy
and the structures of competing arguments. Make controversial topics
into objects of academic investigation and analysis. gDetach it from
the context of its real-world urgency, where there is a decision to be
made, and re-insert it into a context of academic urgency, where there
is an analysis to be performed.h
b. Stanley Fish,
4. Ideological balancing: Teachers (and universities) should balance against the
liberal academic bias.
a. Academic freedom is essential to both faculty and students. Due to the
prevalence of liberal or left-leaning teachers at colleges and
universities, teachers and students must be vigilant of liberal bias in
one-sided lectures, unfair grading, etc.
b. David Horowitz, Students for Academic Freedom (slogan: gYou canft
get a good education if theyfre only telling you half the story.h)
Discussion: what are the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches to
controversial topics? Which do you think is the best way to handle such issues in the
classroom?
Strategies for teaching controversial subjects:
õÎ establish ground rules
õÎ establish a civil atmosphere in the classroom
õÎ moderate your own and students' overattachment to ideas and oversensitivity to
criticism
õÎ moderate negative thinking and strong emotions
õÎ keep it tied to the material
are they talking abiout that or no sorry i am lost
i have no idea lol
Controversial issues can be about the causes of the present situation, what has happened, the likely effect of action, and desirable ends to work toward. Examples would be evolution and universal health care. Teachers should help to develop “critical consciousness” among the students. Teachers should allow their students to bring their own problems into the class. Strategies for teaching controversial subjects: establish ground rules, establish a civil atmosphere in the classroom, and moderate your own and students' over attachment to ideas and oversensitivity to criticism, moderate negative thinking and strong emotions, keep it tied to the material.
i just want to make sure i am on correct path
do u have a site for example? i can look at
crtical thinking, interpersonal skills, preparing students for their roles as citizens in a pluralistic democracy,
The teaching of controversial issues is also proposed as a means to develop students' critical thinking. Through discussion of controversial issues, students develop cognitive skills, such as constructing hypotheses and collecting and evaluating evidence. They also gain insights from sharing information with their peers.
Interpersonal Skills
As students participate in discussions, they also develop important attitudes and communication skills, such as listening carefully, responding empathetically, speaking persuasively, and cooperating readily, with others in a group. Well-managed discussions also promote tolerance of diverse viewpoints on any single issue.
i hope this is what they wanted. it is last nights assignment i asked u about ms sue
Problem solving is a basic skill needed by today’s learners. I guess for each grade level (elementary and middle school) i would present the problem, look at the pros and cons of each potential solution (come up with them first) and then select the best one. I will have to identify the problem. After I identified the people I will have to define the problem through looking at the alternatives, brainstorming, and checking out the different points of view. I will also act on the strategies and look back at it and evaluate the effects of my activity. Here are three characteristics of problem solving. The first is problem solving is a cognitive but is inferred from behavior, problem solving results in behavior that leads to a solution, and problem solving is a process that involves manipulation of or operation on previous knowledge.
that sound ok?
ok thanks i wasn't finished i just wanted to see how it sounded so far

To solve problems, learners have to want to do so, and they have to believe they can. Motivation and attitudinal aspects such as effort, confidence, anxiety, persistence and knowledge about self are important to the problem solving process. The goal for problem solving is always for the learners to transfer what they learned to new situations. With a problem exercise is help the students understand the goal, and then I will help them break it down into smaller goals. I will also ask questions. This will encourage the students to grasp the skill.
o ok thank you
did i answer all the questions then?
oh ok ty
was low income one? or was i wrong
oh ok sorry didn't mean to refresh the page
thank you i hope i can figure this assignment out
• Write a 350- to 500-word response addressing the following points:
o List three social factors that most impact the scenario.
o Justify your answer with an example from the scenario for each selected factor.
o Conclude by suggesting a viable solution to the scenario.
this is what i said. any suggestions??
The social factors that most impacted the scenario I found where low income, bullying, peer pressure, parent’s expectations and role playing, and high income. I think high income is a social factor because the parents that have a high income do not seem to know what to do with their money. All they know is to bully the other kids. An example of the high income is where there were rumors that three parents of the boys are renting a limousine. A solution for the renting the limousine is maybe the school can have a reward in order to get a limousine if you cannot afford one. For example the school could have where if the students are on the honor roll or maybe not failing a class, get a limousine ride. The school could hold fundraisers in order to get the money to rent a limousine. If the school does not want to do fundraisers maybe they can find a limousine company and see if they will donate their time to drive the limousine. Not everyone can afford to rent a limousine. An example of the low income is because several lower socioeconomic backgrounds said they will boycott the dance. They said they will boycott the dance because they cannot afford the coat-and-tie attire. If the students could not afford to the coat and tie attire they students could hold a clothing drive. The clothing drive could be where the community can donate any of their dresses and coats and ties to the school. The students that could not afford the suit and tie attire could also ask their friends and family members if they have any they can use. The lower income students also believe that who are in favor the coat and tie attire are only the “nerds” and “geeks.”
good thinking. thank you
ok thank you i couldn't figure out the other one
i need a better understandong what to do on the Explain ways to debunk three of the five gender misconceptions.
i am not sure what they mean
3. Describe two to three strategies you would share with students who do not know how to cooperate.
I could have the class set rules together. I will also have to be firm and consistent. It is always good also to priase the students when they are doing well.
ok ty
• Complete an Internet search to find at least two instances of conflicts between the legal and ethical issues confronting the education of ELLs. For example, some states have ceased funding for bilingual education and may not instruct the ELLs in their native languages. However, the issue still remains that the schools are responsible for instructing ELLs and those students have to learn English in order to succeed in school. How do schools meet the needs of the ELLs without breaking state laws?
what could i look up to find this info. i am not sure what they are asking
It is very important to establish an environment of caring and mutual respect. By showing an interest and recognizing students as individuals, students will understand that you care about them. Listening, showing patience, being empathetic without being too sympathetic are all ways to show students that you try to be fair. It is also important to understand that being fair does not always mean that everyone is treated exactly the same. Recognizing the individual differences and accommodating special needs is an important part of being a teacher. Taking the time to explain the need to accommodate helps students understand why sometimes treating people differently is fair.
The ability to laugh at yourself and demonstrate that you, too, are a learner helps students know you as a person. Understanding that we learn from our mistakes should be modeled. Value what students are interested in and appreciate their history, culture and experiences
