dude, this problem is impossible
thanks but i'm still lost...
wait, i mistyped. it should be: if f(x) = x^2 - 2x, find f(x+2) - f(2) / x divided by x, not 2. sorry...
well i redid it and i got this: = x^2 + 4x + 4 - 2x - 4 - 2^2 - 4 / 2 = x^2 + 2x / x divide the x and i get "x+2" is it correct??

I can not believe the amount of errors on this page with spelling etc. There is no problems getting jobs as long as you know your stuff. People usually gripe about the school because they cant handle not having a teacher around. If you are self-paced and do not need constant attention then the school is good for you.

thank you very much.. i understand what you are saying, but can you show me the algebra steps to get the 2 solutions? i keep substituting the first equation into the second and try to work it out, but for some reason i am still doing it wrong.
my variables are a little different than yours, but here is what i have.. Yf=Vosinθ (tf)-.5g(tf)² Yf=Vosinθ(xf)/Vocosθ-.5g(xf/Vocosθ)² i'm having trouble isolating Vo. am i supposed to use the quadratic equation? my algebra is not very good.. so if you can point me in the right direction it would help alot.
ahhh i finally got it!!! thank you so much!
yes.. it's the "brothers of mercy" problem. a plane is flying at 40 m/s, descending at an angle of 37 degrees to the horizontal. it is 100 m in the air and it is trying to drop a package to a man at R distance. what is R? to find R, i needed to solve for time. that's where the quadratic came from

Thank you Reiny. I see where I was making my mistake. I was multiplying 1/2*2 and 1/2*-6. instead of 2-6 then multiplying 1/2. Thank you for your help.
Yes. Please!
No need to shout Jen. I misunderstood her question. I would like help finding an article that is peer reviewed that pertains to my original question. I have searched my university's library and cannot find any related articles.

I should have given more info. I figured that I would use the H-H equation and the total conc., but what I don't get is why do I need two pka's. I can get to the mass easily, but it seems that I could use either pka=7.21 or 12.67 with the base +acid =.1M.
(1)acid+base=.1M potassium dibasic phosphate: 7=12.67 + log(base/acid) (base/acid)=2.138x10^-6 subst. in (1) base+base/2.138x10^-6=.1 solving base=2.13x10^-7M Mass of base=2.13x10^-7 x (174.18g)=3.71x10^-5g Now I can find the mass of the acid as well by substituting for the base, but how do I make use of kpa = 7.21, why do I need it?
actually the other guy has it right except that he has sin instead of cosine
correct. can be written as just 9s^2 - 4d^2

You have two problems here. 1. need D:f(x) = 2sqrtx 2. subsitute x=4 into derivative D: 2sqrtx : a) multiply power times coefficient; 1/2 * 2 = 1 b)power - 1 = 1/2 -1 = -1/2 c. f'(x) = x^-1/2 or 1/sqrtx substitute 4 for x and you should be there
an infinity of shapes can have two right angles provided they have more than three sides and the sum of the inside facing angles minus the sum of the outside facing angles equals 180 degrees.

The experiment was not 'double blind" because the same person who compared the test scores (the professor) was aware of the reason for the experiment. If the groups were aware of the reason for them playing the games (possible affect on test scores) this would be another potential bias.
The additive inverse is the # which when added to a number equals zero. interesting questions. If you consider 12 on the clock to be '0", the -3 would have 3 as an "AI". If you consider the number you are starting from to be "0" then = or - 12 would always give the number back to you. Q #2 might hold the answer because of the choices given. The only number that is 22 hours away form 12 is 2. I would consider using 12 as zero for the other questions as well.
for every increase of 1 in x, y decreeases by 3 this gives us 3x y=0=23 so, y=23-3x

hi, don't know the answer, i didn't even go to college.... i am trying to invent a device that will aid in handicapped sports... i am trying to load a spring with the least amount of energy and compound it into the highest kinetic force i can.. only thing loading this spring will be a HC person. For instance when leaning left the left spring is loaded as the right spring is extended, then leaning right the opposite occurs.. sorry to bug you
Okay, dude your velocities are ridiculous, does 150 m/s even make ANY sense to you?
P= r - c p= (5000-30x)(80+x)-300x p'= -60x + 2300 x = 38.3 therefore 38.3 * 30 = 1150 per person

We can find that there are three topics that may generate high costs, which can make inefficient use of large-scale wind energy: - The purchase and set-up of wind turbines can be expensive - Wind turbines require certain constant speeds to be productive - Wind farms can't sustain constant power due to daily and seasonal variance in wind

Oh it sums up the heat? I thought it was delta G(products)-Delta G(reactants) wouldn't that then be 8*-228.6 + 6*-394.4-2*(-360.5)= giving you -3426.2 KJ/Mol. Could you explain why you made the 360.5 positive? Thanks.
