In the first chapter of the text we discussed the 10 principles of economics. Two principles that help explain how wages are determined in a market economy are #1, People Face Tradeoffs, and #7, Governments Can Sometimes Improve Market Outcomes (Mankiw, 2004). Consider these principles when completing your assignment. Think of how they apply to the labor market for nurses. · Due Date: Day 7 [Individual] forum · Research the labor market for any state to determine how nursing wages are calculated. Use the Internet for this research. · Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper in APA format, in which you: o Cite the state and the URL of the Web site used in your research. o Address which factors may influence the supply and demand for nurses. o Discuss how a nurse’s pay is determined and how the salary is structured. o Discuss what your chosen state can do to increase the supply of nurses. o Include at least one appropriately cited and documented quotation to support a point. o Include at least one appropriately cited and documented paraphrase to support a point.

As times have changed and as our culture continues to evolve, the concerns of teenagers have changed as well. Let's face it, a teenager's attention span for literature is short; few have the patience, determination, or energy to wade through a Dickens novel in search of an epiphany." There is no 'essence' of literature whatsoever . . . any writing may be read 'poetically'. If I pore over the railway timetable not to discover a train connection but to stimulate in myself general reflections on the speed and complexity of modern existence, then I might be said to be reading it as literature. Dear Mr. Dittmer: I am writing to request a trainer for our seminar on sexual harassment and unlawful discrimination in the workplace for twenty of our office supervisors. Our company would like to take this opportunity to thank you for Wydade’s reliable support in offering most of Broadworth’s training needs for the past 20 years. We would like the seminar to be held on July 20, 2012, at 9 am. The seminar is to be two hours long with a 15-minute break during which refreshments will be available. It will be held in our conference room on the second floor in room 200. The topics we need covered are ways to report, cope with and prevent such harassment. At your earliest convenience could you please send me a list of resources the trainer may need? We would also need to know what our supervisors should bring with them. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 905-222-6666. We are looking forward to another great seminar this year. Sincerely, Jane Doe Jane Doe Administrative Assistant JD
