(17+x)^2=2209 1. 17+x=2209^1/2 (square root of 2209) 2. x=47-17 3. x=30

dude, you just use a calculator or you spend the time doing the multiplication tree to find two numbers that multiply to equal 2209, which you really can't in a clean process since only 47 times 47 equals 2209 (odd numbers). unless you have a stickler for...

2x+10y=23 (is what im guessing since the problem breaks awkwardly there) y=-1/5x+23/10 (slope intercept form) derivative of y=x^2+14x (im guessing since it looks like you expressed it wrong) y'=2x+14 I'll leave it up to you at that point.

well do it. unless you forgot to ask for the equation just plot those two points and draw a straight line through both of them.

midpoint formula is all i have to say. you figure it out yourself how the answer is (13,22)

No ones going to answer man, the question is just kind of not worth answering since there is no step-by-step. Just tell your teacher you sat there multiplying pairs of numbers till you figured that 47^2=2209

A slope can't be an equation. It's a number, and your solving for x so that the equation equals the slope of the line. Also your teacher taught you the long way of doing a derivative, if the "Power Rule" for derivatives never comes up in class you're bett...

how on earth did you get x=-.568 the equation is right you just solved it wrong.

x=-7.1

It's a word that describes stuff, tells people more about it dude. "That cat is FAT and LAZY." Adverbs are how the people doing an action. "He is running SLOWLY." Be sure not to mix them up.

you don't plug it into the equation of the line. what you are trying to do is to get the derivative equal to the slope of the line y=-1/5x+23/10 y=mx+b so the slope, m=(-1/5) therefore -1/5=2x+14 where x=(-7.1) check your solution y=2(-7.1)+14=-.2 (or -1/...

derivative is a slope. so y'=..... is not the same as y=..... think of y' as m, a slope as well but tangent to graph.
