I have the following exercise: Verify that Ex=f(z-ct)+g(z+ct) is a solution of the one dimensional wave equation. But I don't get what I should do, I mean, isn't Ex the formula of the one dimensional wave equation itself? U.U How can I verify it? Thank yo...

Show that in a parallel plate capacitor the stored electric energy is Ue=C*(V^2)/2 where C is the capacity and V the voltage. (Hint: Remember that in a capacitor Q=C*V) Thanks.

A plane wave propagating along the positive z axis in vacuum is polarized along the y axis at a frequency of 3 GHz. Write the phasor of the E field, H field and Poynting vector. Isn't a phasor the same regardless of the field it is on? Like E, H or Poynti...

The solar radiation incident on the Earth has a power density of approximately 900W/m2. Find the rms value of the electric field. I know that Erms = Emax/squareroot(2) But how can I pass from W/m^2 to electric field?

A small dipole of length l with an input current Io radiates an electromagnetic wave that is TEM respect r with an electric field given by: E = j*w*μ*(1/2)*(Io*l/(4*pi))*e^(-jkr)/r * sinθ Find the expression of the magnetic field, the Poynting vector, the...

Lol no, it is A

:( I could really use some assistance better than the provided from a input field of HTML xD, and my questions usually have symbols that require more precision in order for me to understand them. Is there nothing we can do?

The cylinder one. Vcylinder = pi*r^2*h = pi * 4^2 *12 = 192*pi cm^3 Vcone = 1/3 * pi * r^2 * h = 1/3 * pi * 5^2 * 6 = 50*pi cm^3

Update: I have tried to do: Pd = E^2 / Zo = E^2 /120pi E^2 = Pd * 120pi E = squareroot(900 * 120pi) = 582.48 V Would this be correct?

It is answer 1.

I think so, but the thing that blows my mind is, if it were x direction, then I would change it to y (from theory). But if it goes to the θ direction, how can I change it to direction? I mean which direction will it be? And the Poynting vector, would be a...

I'm having trouble determining its directions, how can I find them? You are so useful man, you can't imagine how grateful I am. Thanks.

But here, if the coordinates are in a polar way, how can I change them to cartisians?
Alright in this case it is true, I can define it, but in my other question, where I have the coordinates in polar, how can I change everything to cartisian?
