I think you need to clear this up. Where are Q and R in relation to P? You have said that θ > 90°, yet none of the choices is greater than 90°. Eh? However, you appear to have an isosceles right triangle ...
Since the rule alone balances at the 35cm mark, rather than the 50cm mark, it clearly does not have uniform density. So, there's no way to tell how much of the mass lies past the 20cm mark.
There are many values of a and b which will allow f(y) to be factored. For example, 2y^3+9y^2-8y-36 = (2y+9)(y+2)(y-2) I think there's something missing here.
please describe the figure so we know how the angles relate.
