You have to get "f" by itself. Since you are subtracting 7 from f, to get it by itself, add 7 to both sides. -7 + 7 = 0, this clears f by itself and 7 + 5 = 12. So 12 = f

Solve using aritmetic progression and quadratic equation, how? Sum of AP = n/2(2a+(n-1)d) Where n is the number of terms, ie in your case the number of rows of seats, 'a' is the number in the first row (a=262) and 'd' is the difference in the next row (d=18). Sum of AP is the number of seats in the arena (Sum=15690). Put this together and you get: 15690=n/2[2*262+(n-1)18] 18n^2+506n-31380=0 equation to: ax^2+bx+c,; a=18, b=506, c=-31380 Now comes the quadratic, solution to a quadratic = [-b(+/-)Sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a substitute the values of a,b anc from above into the quadratic and solve. n=30. Please always check your answer, in this case use sum of AP.

Plug the slope of 61.6, y of 585 and an x of 30 to get the y-intercept of -1263 which is b. So your formula would be y = 61.6x - 1263 for this problem.

Water is continually flowing among the oceans, land, and atmosphere (Figure 5.1). Annually, approximately 496 100 km3 of water leaves the atmosphere as precipitation. [ The same amount of water is returned to the atmosphere annually as evaporation so that the amount of water in the atmosphere does not change over time. Although Earth as a whole balances water, oceans and land differ in precipitation and evaporation. Approximately 385 000 km3 of water falls over the oceans annually as precipitation. Some 424 700 km3 of water returns to the atmosphere each year via evaporation, resulting in an annual imbalance of 39 700 km3 of water. Over land, precipitation exceeds evaporation. ]
The 2 number cubes have a probability of 3/6 and 3/6 of getting an odd number. There are 26 letters so the chance of getting k l or m is 3/26 The solution is 3/6 x 3/6 x 3/26 or 27/936 or 3/104
Welfare payments or consumer subsidies are the benefits that government provides to the consumers without asking anything for return. In other words, it is the transfer payment made by government for the benefits of consumers. There are many reasons why government provide welfare payments or consumer subsidies: 1. If the market price of a good is very high and many consumers are not able to buy the product at that price, then government might provide welfare payments or consumer subsidies. 2. If the good is necessity, say cooking oil, the case of government providing consumer subsidies become very strong. This is because cooking oil is consumed by all sections of the society and therefore government would like to provide it at reasonable price/lower price. I hope that this helps.

For m minutes, A: 25.00+0.10(m-30) B: 20.00+0.12(m-30) So, just solve for m when A=B Kind of strange wording for a math problem in school. The only way it would make since is if it were 2 part question to the solve for x minutes.
Thank you
The 1st thing that you need to do is add up all the costs to make each item. Potato Skins $3.95 potato = $.89 cheese = $.30 Sour cream $.15 Bacon = $.08 Total =$1.42 Cheese fries $3.75 fries $.65 cheese $.30 chili $.35 Total $$1.30 Potato Skins $3.95 cost of goods -$1.42 profit $2.53 Cheese fries $3.75 cost of goods $1.30 profit $2.65 Sales price to profit potato skins $3.95/$2.53 =64% Cheese fries $3.75/$2.65 = 71% Cheese fries are more profitable
That is correct

By definition, status offenses are acts that are considered criminal only when committed by a juvenile. They include truancy, running away from home, underage drinking, disobeying parents, and even purchasing tobacco products. In some jurisdictions, a status offense is a delinquent act committed by a person under a certain age. As you can see it varies from Jurisdiction to Jurisdiction.

after more simplification I got x^2(sqrt5x)/(sqrt5)(x sqrt5x) can I cancel out the sqrt5x from the denominator and numerator?
Is the final answer x/sqrt5?
The a is supposed to be a square root
I'm just trying to write it like it appears in the book. (5)^-1/2 * (5x)^5/2 (5x)^-3/2 Simplifies to 1/5 * ã5x^5(1/ã5x^3) How do I get to xã5? I'm confused. I've tried many times.

Thank you for your response, but to clarify, why is "(17+13)" important in the problem?
Reiny I believe you have made a mistake, but using the same method, the correct answer would be 1mile (because (1/60)*(60)). But still, thanks for the help.
Thank you.

If the the girls are not being replaced (i.e put back in the lot) it would be (16/54)+(15/53)+(14/52)+(13/51) since you're not replacing them, the amount of people inside the group decreases. Now fi the candidates were being replaced, the amount of candidates in total would not change, making it (16/54)*4
(1/2)17+(1/6)= Since a coin has 2 sides, the probability of landing a heads is 1/2, and because there are 17 of them, you multiply the 1/2 by 17. The die is being rolled once so the porbability of rolling a 4 is 1/6. Add them together you get what you need.

I believe your equation for velocity is incorrect. In this case V=-sin(sqrt(t))*1/2(sqrt(t))^-1/2 Your equation for velocity is missing raising to the -1/2 power at the end. applying that piece will make velocity undefined at t=0.
Oh lol, I think I see what we're doing differently. I thought that the first instance that the particle would be at the origin was when t=0 but it really is when t=pi/2. Basically, I substituted the wrong number. Thank you, and I'm sorry for not seeing your point.
Thank you very much, you opened my eyes to my error, however I see a slight mistake in your work as well. You got here: dy/dx = (y-1)/(x^2) dy = (y-1)/(x^2) dx dy/(y-1) = x^-2 dx this is all correct, but when you integrate it should be this: ln (y-1) = -1/x + c (because the antiderivative of x^-2 is -1/x +c) then I work out all of everything afterward, I find that c = 1 I substitute 1 for c and get this equation ln|y-1| = -1/x +(1) But now I am back at my original problem. I have to solve for y, but don't know how :(
I think we have a golden answer! Thank you so much for your wonderful help, it means a lot that you'd take the time to help me out and teach me something along the way. I have no idea how I made it to a calculus class without knowing how to solve logarithms, and yet, here I am. Thanks Again!
Thank you too steve!
