Because I am only in 5th grade and still suck at math and I really need help

Mixed numbers are, normally, changed to fractions before adding or subtracting: 10 1/2 + 6 1/4 = 21/2 + 25/4 = 42/4 + 25/4 = 67/4 = 16 3/4. Note: This might not be right bc I am only in 5th grade
