The order of the elements; the position of the nuclei?
I'm not sure how this is zero?
A farmer buys two varieties of animal feed. Type A contains 9 ounces of oats and 2 ounces of corn per pound. Type B contains 5 ounces of oats and 10 ounces of corn per pound. The farmer wants to combine the two feeds so that the resulting mixture has at least 80 pounds of oats and at least 55 pounds of corn. The farmer wants to buy not more than 300 pounds of Type A feed and not more than 175 pounds of Type B feed. Type A feed costs him 18 cents per pound, and Type B feed costs him 19 cents per pound. How many pounds of each type should the farmer buy to minimize the cost?
25.1 degrees celsius
solve by using the substitution method. 5x-3y=-25 4x+34=y
4x+5y=4, 8x+10y=8
Your equation is correct, but your answer is not. Your number of Edges is you e variable. so you are looking for the "e" what you found is "e+2" As a general Rule with math equations, and you can do this before you put your numbers in, figure out what variable you will be looking for (in this case e=?) and move everything else to the other side of your equals sign. This will let you have an otomatic solution, because it will set you equation up as "e=..." which is exactly what you want to know, and thn you don't have the confusion that you had in this set up again. so if your equation is v+f=e+2, e=? then your next step is to get e alone on one side. v+f=e+2 -2= -2 v+f-2=e then plug your numbers in to get your answer.
Tina, Reiny is correct about the equation you are looking for, but the examples are not quite what you want. The directions tell you "in lowest terms" that means your fraction has been reduced the farthest it can go and still be a fraction, and not a decimal. So the example of 6/10 would not be one of your five, because it can be reduced farther to 3/5 which does not fit your equation. So just keep plunging in numbers and checking until you have 5 that fit both criteria.
Reiny, no, actually, the square root of anything is not always the positive. because if you multiply two negative numbers, you get a positive number. So, when you square root anything, you assume it is either the positive or negative of a number, because it can be either. Unfortunately, I do not have a TI-84, so I can only say to graph both the positive and the negative forms on you graph and see where they intersect. Or you can solve the problem the old fashion way (which is rather easy...)
....ok, maybe it's not easy... >.<
x cannot be negative, so only one of the two possible number for x is correct.
Hugo: 12-9=3years 62-56=6inces 6 is what present of 56? 6 = x * 56 6/56=x 3/28=x x=0.10714286 the the nearest tenth, x=0.1 Interest: x=opening deposit y=interest rate (some decimal number or percent[which is then turned into a decimal]) $3262.50 over the course of 9 months is 3262.50/9=$362.5 per month What is the interest rate of the equation? x*y=362.5 x=362.5/y Total Cost, Boat: sales tax equations: x=price y=percent tax z=final price x+(x*y)=z x*(1+y)=z $1600, 5.5% 1600*.055=88 so sales tax is $88, plus(!) the cost of the actual boat so 1600+88=1688 total cost=$1688 CD Player1-Discount Sales: % less/markdown x=original price y=percent discount z=final price x-(x*y)=z x*(1-y)=z x=$89, y=solve for, z=$80 x*(1-y)=z (x*(1-y))/x=z/x 1-y=z/x -1 = -1 -y=(z/x)-1 y=1-(z/x) y=1-(80/89) y=1-.8989 y=0.1011 10.11% discount Computer 105+1500=1605 CD Player2-Tax, 4.95+99=103.95 Calendar 1-(2.25/9)=.75 discount is 75% I gave you the equations, and the explanations, so hopefully, you will be able to get farther the next time. the answers you gave were correct, but you were missing the next step to the problems. If you need/want to, write the equations down, so that you have them if you ever need them. and if you learn how to "translate" English math problems to math equations (like I did in Hugo), word problems won't as difficult. It takes a while, and a lot of practice, and it helps if they are lined up the correct way (like how I wrote Hugo) and not backward (like they sometimes are) but practice and you'll get it.

And I hope the directions helped.

The answer if there is a 2-inch border would be 8x-16 Step by Step: 2(2x) + 2(2)(x - 4) Multiply 2 times 2x and 2 times 2: 4x + 4 (x - 4) Use Distributive Property to multiply 4 times x and 4 times - 4 (negative 4): 4x + 4x - 16 Then add like terms, 4x plus 4x: 8x - 16
Thank yall!
