A car can go from 0 - 60mi/h in 3 seconds during free fall. How long will it take for this same car to go from 0 - 4 mi/h? This is hypothetical situation.

An arrow is fired with a speed of 20.0 m/s at a block of Styrofoam resting on a smooth surface. The arrow penetrates a certain distance into the block before coming to rest relative to it. During this process the arrow's deceleration has a magnitude of 13...

A car can go from 0 - 60mi/h in 3 seconds during free fall. How long will it take for this same car to go from 0 - 4 mi/h? This is hypothetical situation. The answer I have come up with is 0.2 seconds but my homeowrk system says it is not correct. Is ther...

A person on horseback moves according to the velocity-versus-time graph shown in Figure 2-32. (The vertical axis is marked in increments of 1 m/s and the horizontal axis is marked in increments of 7 s.) Find the displacement of the person for each of the...

A golf ball is struck with a five iron on level ground. It lands 85.0 m away 4.60 s later. What was the magnitude and direction of the initial velocity

The "hang time" of a punt is measured to be 4.00 s. If the ball was kicked at an angle of 53.0° above the horizontal and was caught at the same level from which it was kicked, what was its initial speed? (Neglect air resistance.)

Babe Didrikson holds the world record for the longest baseball throw (296 ft) by a woman. For the following questions, assume that a ball is thrown at an angle of 45.0° above the horizontal, that it travels a horizontal distance of 280 ft, and is caught a...

You pull upward on a stuffed suitcase with a force of 118 N, and it accelerates upward at 0.765 m/s2. What is the mass of the suitcase? I tried to find the mass and got the mass being 90.27kg but that isn't right. Can someone explain how to find the mass....

A baseball player slides into third base with an initial speed of 8.45 m/s. If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the player and the ground is 0.40, how far does the player slide before coming to rest? How do I begin to solve this problem?

Calculate the power output of a 1.0 g fly as it walks straight up a window pane at 2.6 cm/s. I have no idea how to figure out this answer. I've tried using P = Fv but that hasn't worked.

Suppose that a simple pendulum consists of a small 66.0 g bob at the end of a cord of negligible mass. Suppose that the angle between the cord and the vertical is given by θ = (0.0800 rad) cos[(4.30 rad/s)t + ϕ] (a) What is the pendulum's length? (b) What...

I figured out a) by using w=2pi/T T=1.46 then used T to solved T=(2pi*sq root L/g) L = .53 but I can't figure out an equation to give me the velocity. Any ideas?

Where did the Vmax = L*theta*w come from? How do I find theta?

Vmax= (.53m)(.0800rad)(4.30 rad/s) =.182 KE=1/2mv^2 =1/2(.066kg)(.182)^2 =.0011 or 1.09e-03 That doesn't look right to me. what am I doing wrong? ;_;

Another question, sorry, trying my bests to understand your thinking. I don't see where you knew to multiple L * theta * W. I understand that the 2nd derivative of the equation gives you the Velocity function.
