I think this might be right. For example: say you have 2 groups with 1 and 2 in 1 group and 3 and 4 in the other. You add 1+2=3 and 3+4=7 then you add 3+7 which equals 10. If its not right im really sorry.

First you add 21+34 which is 55.Then you round up to the nearest ten,which would give you 60.So 60 is the answer.

Associative property is like this:say you have 2x3=6 but if you change the problem around like this 3x2=6 you get the same answer both times so that is associative property. I hope this helps :)
