I'm trying to factor this equation in order to find its limit, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I can get the answer by graphing on a calculator but I need to do it without one. Function: F(x)=(x^2-36)/(sqrt(x^2-12x+36)) left, right, and overall lim a...

I'm trying to find the left, right, and overall limits of this function without using a calculator. Any help/suggestions on how I'm supposed to do this would be very helpful! f(x){ sinx if x<pi/6 tanx if x=pi/6 a=pi/6 cosx if x>pi/6

I need help trying to find the left, right, and overall limits for this piecewise function without using a calculator. f(x) = { sin(x/3) if x≤pi , (x√ 3)/(2pi)if x>pi} when a=pi

I'm trying to make sure I got this question right. I'm supposed to find (g * f)(x) when f(x)x^2-2x and g(x)=√(x-15). This is what I've got: (g * f)(x) = g(f(x)) √ (x^2-2x)-15= √(x^2-2x-15)= √(x-5)(x+3)

Consider the function f(x)= (3/4)x^4-x^3-3x^2+6x Find the relative extrema for f(x); be sure to label each as a maximum or minimum. You do not need to find function values; just find the x-values. Determine the interval(s) where f(x) is increasing (if any...

Thanks so much for all your help! That was way simpler than I thought, I think I was just overthinking it. Do you think you could also help me find the concave up at x = −2, x = −1, and x = 2 and show f(x) is concave down at x = 0? (this is still for the...

The cost of producing x units of a certain commodity is C(x)=1000+5.70x+0.7x^2 . What is the average rate of change of C with respect to x when the production level is raised from x = 100 to x = 120 and when the production level is raised from x = 100 to...

Hello! I'm having trouble understanding how I'm supposed to work out this problem. Any help would be appreciated! Find the area of the region bounded by the curve y = f(x) = x3 – 4x + 1 and the tangent line to the curve y = f(x) at (–1,4).

I would like someone to double-check my answers on this question: River currents (miles per hour) at a certain location are given below. The current direction at this location was “from the north” during the time interval shown, and the current did not ex...

Measurements of a lake’s width were taken at 15-foot intervals, as shown: x= 0 15 30 45 60 75 90 105 120 f(x)= 0 15 18 20 19 23 24 22 12 Estimate integral (0,120) f(x) dx with n = 4, using Midpoint approximation. For this question, I ended up with 7200 bu...

Alright, so if the question is asking for a * then I multiply both functions together, but if its asking for a ◦ then I plug in one function the the other? ps, Thanks for your help!

I did (0.5)(10)(0.283+0.333) + (0.5)(10)(0.333+0.367) + (0.5)(10)(0.367+0.350) + (0.5)(10)(0.350+0.283) = 13.33 miles Avg value: (13.33) / 40 = 0.333 mi/min

so 19.98 miles per hour (converting the mi/min to mph) would be my actual average i suppose whoops

Which would give B. as being 6:10, or maybe about 6:09 since the velocity is riiiight under 20

for c.) d=v*t where v=19.98 and t=2/3, 19.98*(2/3)= 13.32 (which is actually one decimal off of my answer oops)
