Hello John, I have a better understanding now of part c now that you explained it and I greatly appreciate your help. I also figured out I got part b wrong as well.
I believe I figured out the answer it is 24 miles
I understand now what the scale of the map is. It is 1 inch equals 12 miles. I don't understand how figure out part b though.
Thank you Ms. Sue. I found my answer. What is the trick to finding this stuff on google.
Ok. So also another way then to describe would be how many weeks are in days? Would this be correct as well?
Thank you Ms. Sue.
Okay that is easy. So then my answer would be 15/16 5/8 divided by 2/3 5/8 x 3/2=15/16
Oh! I see now how you got 5 and 5/8 this makes sense now. Thank you
What if you have 5/8 divided by 2/3? I got 15/24 divided 16/24 and now I got stuck.
So only for addition and subtraction you would find the common denominator? Not or multiplication or division?
I just figured out what I did wrong the answer is 45/8
Thank you Ms. Sue. I believe I found the answer 1 is the answer for number one and 14 is the answer for number two.
Thank you
I thought the problem was going to be more difficult and I appreciate your help.
I think I figured it out. It would be linear or on a coordinate plane
I think you meant to send Thanks Steve! to Steve. Ms. H would you know how you would graph the information from the table or how you would explain how to graph the information from the table? Also if I am using the unit rate to complete the table did I do
How would you graph the information from the table or how would you explain how to graph the information from the table?
The only thing I am confused a bit on is the second part of the question where it states Use the unit rate to complete the table. The only thing I can think of is as follows: 3sweatshirts/$60.00 dollars=$0.05 for 1 sweatshirt 5 sweatshirts/$100.00=$0.05
So. I found out all the missing numbers. 3 sweatshirts for $60.00=$20.00 per sweatshirt $20.00 for 1 sweatshirt x 5 sweatshirts=$100.00 $20.00 for 1 sweatshirts x 8 sweatshirts=$160.00 $20.00 for 1 sweatshirt x 9 sweatshirts=$180.00 $20.00 for 1
The question is as follows: Find the rate if money collected per sweatshirt sold. Show your work. Use the unit rate to complete the table
Why would you not just ad 42 + 12=54 6(54) 42 times 6=252 12 times 6=72 252+72=324 54x6=324 Why would you not do it like I did above?
In 11b there would be 16 ounces so 96 oz divided by 5 ounces would be 19.2 so that is about 19 apples? Would that be correct?
Yay I did it right. Ty
I got a totally different answer.
What numbers would I use to do the distributive property? Would it be 6(42 + 12)?
Then it states use the greatest common factor 6 from the answer above to rewrite using the distributive property.
Yes I understand.
Okay I understand put what it is talking about. Thank you
I did. I just cross multiplied to make sure I had the correct answers.
I think I get what they are saying. It would be as follows: 4/16=0.25/1
Or the answer would be 4/16=x/1
Wait. Would it just be 4/1 and then 16/1
I am looking and it does not say I can't find it.
So I got the answer right then. 6 honeybees would make 1/2 teaspoon of honey?
That was easy then.
The least common multiple is 20 so 20 would be the answer.
x=310
Or 2 honeybees
Ty so much Ms. Sue. You are the best.
Multiply so you would multiply $6.95 per pound of coffee x 3.4 pounds of coffee=$23.63 is the total that he paid
So would the answer be 310
I kind of understand. I am going to study what you sent. So the answer to this problem then would be the grass would grow 144 inches in 24 days then.
So if I cross multiply then 14 x 31=434 10x31=4,350 or If I reduce 10/14 that would equal 5/7 5/7=1,085/31 Can you check and see if I did this right?
Thank you for checking on this Ms.Sue

Thank you for making me think and pointing me in the right direction as well. I would like to ask one more question though. How do you know in a word problem with a ratio whether to divide or multiply?
I get it more clearly now with you providing this example. Wow you are good at math. I really appreciate your help.

I tried that too and got the same answer 9/6 and 8/6 so I know that Gina did not use the same ratio of yellow paint to blue paint as instructed by her teacher because the teacher used 1/6 more paint than Gina. Would my above answer be correct?
Let me ask you how did you find out that Pablo would get 8 free minutes to every 40 paid?
