You have to use SINE. If you draw a diagram you know that we are looking for the hypotenuse. Therefore sin50=15/x 0.766=15/x 0.766x=15 (divide by 0.766 to isolate x) x=19.58 so the kite string is 19.58m long

So I calculated the mass of MgSO4 (120.37g/mol) and the mass of 7H2O (126.14g/mol). Then I divided the mass of MgSO4 by MgSO4 . 7H20 multiplied by 100%. My answer was 95.426%. But how do I get the amount of magnesium?

The proper form would be -x^2 +2x -1. You could also put it as x^2 -2x -1. Either way they will both factor the same. Just make sure its in standard form (ax^2 +bx +c)
