I tried this question two ways, (10x+2x)(20x+2x)-did quadratic equation instead of factoring & got incorrect answer so I did (10+x)(20+x)with quadratic equation & got 5 or -20, chose 5 & sub'ed into area to check but when typing in here I typed the 4x^2
2nd answer: P=2x +2y=23 x+y=11.5 y=11.5-x x(11.5-x)= 33 11.5x -x^2=33 (Multiply by 2 to get rid of decimal?) 23x-2x^2=66 23x-2x^2+66=0 (x-6)(2x-11)=0 Sub 6 into y= 11.5-x=11.5-6=5.5 Sub 5.5, 5.5=11.5-x, x=11.5-5.5=6 Therefore the dimensions of the
Sorry Ms. Sue, I have posted hopefully correct or on the right track answers to all the other questions, but I have to go to sleep, I will attempt to answer this tomorrow Thanks
Is this right?
Guidance as to where I am going wrong?
Are the first 2 parts correct? Hint please on the third part? I think I need the velocity? How to calculate?

Pool A=10 x 20 = 200 Deck A=200(2)=400 Total Area=400+200=600 (10+x)(20+x)=600 200+10x+20x+4x^2=600 4x^2+30x-400=0 did quadratic equation, got 10 or -20 Added 10 to length & width 20 x 30 =600, which is the total area. Therefore the deck is 20 x 30, would
Redid the quadratic equation, got 4.16 or -43.16 Rounded 4.16 to 4.2 Sub'ed into dimensions 15+4.2=19.2 & 24+4.2=28.2 19.2 x 28.2 =541.44, close to 540 IS THIS CORRECT?
no I did not know I had to show my work,I did not read the posting tips, I have posted most of my work to show where I was stuck. I did not expect to have my homework just done for me as that would be useless when it came time to write the test or final
P=2(18)+ 2(12)= 36 +24+ 60 A+18x12=216 Tulip border= 216/2=108 (18+x)(12+x)=(18x12)/2 +216 216+18x+12x+x^2=108+216 x^2+30x-108=0 cannot factor quadratic equation = -40.82 or -20.82
Is the answer I gave correct?
The building is 10 metres tall. h=-5t^2+35t+10 =-5(t^2-7t-2) =-5(t^2-7t+12.25-12.25)+10 =-5(t^2-7t+12.25)+61.25+10 = -5(t^2-7t+12.25)+71.25 =-5(t-3.5)^2 + 71.25 So at 3.5 seconds the maximum height is 71.25 metres high. Is this correct?
(15+x)(24+x)= (15*24)(1.5) 360+15x+24x+x^2=540 x^2+39x-180=0 cannot factor? tried quadratic equation, got x=+/-15.33??
