measured clockwise from a given line instead of counterclockwise. for example, a positive angle of 315 deg is equal to a negative angle of (-)45 deg.
each di has 6 sides, so 6 possible outcomes for each di rolled: (1,2,3,4,5,6)
if you're looking for probability of specific events, you'll have to ask a more specific q
what do you know about a perimeter?
perimeter = 2*width + 2*length
width=x
lenght=l
perimeter=2x+2l
equate it to what you already know about the perimeter, given as 6x+6 yards:
*2x+2l=6x+6
now solve for l, and it will give you the length in terms of x
points are coordinates, so any set of numbers (x,y) that fall on the line in each question.
for questions 1&2, pick a number for x (try 1,2,3) and then solve for y. for the first question that would be:
x=1:
4*(1)-y=6
4-y=6
y=2
one possible answer: (1,2)
keep going, and see if you can get 3 by yourself
oops, lost that negative sign:
4-y=6
y=-2
one possible answer: (1,-2)
P((1+r)^2)^3
combine the exponents
P(1+r)^6
what kind of q is it? you shouldn't be responsible for multiplying that out.
Probability of an event always lies between 0 and 1. I'll give you a hint: it's either 0 or 1.
let's say the second speed = x
look at how the units present in the q give you a clue about how to solve the equation:
*mph = miles per hour.
*hours.
*miles.
miles PER hour = miles/hour
MPH = miles/hour is the conversion
1. the first machine: 60mph and 7.2hours. how do you solve for miles?
miles=mph*hours
2. the second machine: set this one up, but use variable (x) for the speed (mph).
hope this helps
P[(1+r)^6] should be right - and the simplified form; the concept is that each return on the P dollars is calculated by (1+r) increased to another power.
hmm...care to explain further?
the likelihood of a heads or tails for each separate event: P, N, and D is 1/2 since there are two sides to a coin.
i'm not sure if the q is asking something about a combination of the events.
the y-intercept is where a line crosses the y axis. therefore, this is where x is equal to 0. plug in x=0 to the equation and solve for y!
do not capitalize colleges and universities unless you use their specific name.
There are many Bishops of different religions. If you want a better answer, you should tell us what religion you are talking about. Which ward? We could then tell you who the Bishop is.
Thank you.
3a. The y-intercept is where the line crosses the y axis. The y axis is the line going up and down. So if the line crossed at positive two your y-intercept would be +2.
3c. When they say write it in slope form they mean y=mx+b. M= slope b= y-intercept. Like if your slope went down 2 over 1 and your y-intercept was positive two your equation would look like this
Y = 2/1x + 2

How could cell phones be used to improve relationships with teachers and parents today?
You would usually simplify the square root as much as possible, say... 4 square root of 80. Nothing times it's self is 80, but it does have factors you can work with. 8 and 10 are easy... 8 has a factor of 4 and 2. 4 can be simplified down into 2 and 2. One of those goes away, and one goes to the outside. The ten can factor into 5 and 2. You have two two's and a five inside the square root. Another goes away and another goes to the outside. you are left with 2, 4, and 2 on the outside. You multiply them and have 16 square root of 5, because the five is still inside the square root...That was extremely long winded, but I hope it helps...

Would this statement be a misplace burden of proof.
"What are the two formal fallacies
deductive and inductive"
This is incorrect. tHe tow formal fallacies are conditional arguments and syllogisms.
deduction and induction are the two main categories of logic.

The CH@ is supposed to be CH2. And I didn't write the numbers to be the parent chain. I just numbered them so it would be easier for me to explain. On #4, there's one on top and 2 on bottom. #5, they're all on bottom.
I also think the parent chain has 8 carbons in it. So I know the name ends in octane.
But you're taking the number of boys from the percent of people that don't like hockey. 60% of people don't like hockey. So it's 25%/60%, right? So, wouldn't it be 42%?

Thank you for the three other translations! So in a dumbed down summary of that stanza, my understanding is that the speaker is basically saying the woman's flirtatious behavior will be in vain. Her behavior will not rightfully find a reward because only those as "strong" as she will understand these "charms of horror." Am I in the ballpark?
I still don't see where it's coming from. I'm sorry. :)
thanks, but they said to use form,140=k*50^2, then I got 140=k(2500) which ends up being k=14/250. The equation variation is d=14/250*r^2 which give us d=14/250*70^2 or 6860/25. I just didn't know how to convert to lowest terms. Can you help me with this? Other examples I got wrong are 9800/36 I was suppose to convert to 2450/9, I don't know how they got this, do you?
I know about the quadratic equation, I can never do it correctly or seem to get the right answer, I do excerises with my school work and follow the steps but can't seem to do it with out looking at how someone else got the answer first. I am horriable at math and this is my last math class. Can you help me?
I believe that x=-2 and the maximum is -2 and the graph goes downward. I did do some excerises with my school work but haven't mastered this.
pls let me know if I have anything right. I appericate you pushing me to find the answer.
ok the vertex is (-6,2) the line of symmetry is x=-6 and the vlue is max at 2, the graph goes downward. can someone please tell me if I am right. I am trying here.
ok is the answer x=-5 plus-minus sqrt 21?
hmm is it 36?
ok so instead of .81 x 400 it's 500? because it is 5 tests?
ok thank you
Thanks! :)
Writeacher, thanks for the tip...I was never really sure whether I was supposed to type my actual class subject or the subject material. If it's ok, I might submit this question again with a different school subject.

It tells you what is, but it doesn't tell you why that is. Perhaps it's an assumed piece of information, but I seem to have missed it.
What I don't understand is what it matters that the leaving group is a weak base or a strong base. Doesn't a base in general just want to accept protons? A weak base wants protonation, but doesn't a strong base want protonation as well?
Okay maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. Is it because what really matters is the R in the R-X (X being the halogen and the future leaving group)? Like if X is the weaker conj base, it means the acid is very strong, and therefore is willing to give its electrons away to the leaving halogen?
Sorry if I'm not making sense, I'm trying as best as I can to understand this.
Update on what's going on in my head:
I think I'm getting confused because I am thinking of a bronsted acid/base instead of lewis. The weaker the lewis base is, the stronger the lewis acid is. So once the lewis base donates its electrons, the halogen of the lewis acid falls out as the leaving group. The leaving group is now the conjugate lewis acid, and therefore accepts electrons. The stronger this conj acid is, the more electrons it will take away from the carbon, therefore making it more favorable for the lewis base to bond with this carbon.
Hope someone can let me know if I'm in the right direction, and if not explain the right stuff to me :)
Yes, I think that helps. Thank you!
I forgot about that expansion method. Will have to look it up. Thanks!
Thank you so so much. Well I got the first two answers correct now. But in c i think i should use friction force which should be rubber upon concrete? Co-efficient of kinetic friction for that is 0.8. (I need the kinetic friction co-efficient here right?) But i'm not sure how to do this part. What will the approach be?
yes but the cd will not work. do u know anyone that has a copy

I need to provide literature allusion about Hector. and one about Paris, and one about Achilles.I am having a hard time finding similar litature characters to allude to or compare similarities. A quote about any of the three from another liturature source would be great. where do I start?
Asuming the problem to be
5/4x + 1/8x = 5/8 + x
(10 + 1) / 8x = (5 + 8x) / 8
ie. 11/ 8x = (8x + 5) / 8
11 = 8x (8x +5) / 8
ie. 11 = 8x ^2 + 5x
We will now have to handle it as a quadratic equation:
8x ^2 + 5x - 11 = 0
Apply the formula to get the roots:
(-b + Sqrt ( b^2 - 4ac) ) / 2a
-
Hope this clarifies enough!
I tried and verified the equation with the following assumption to make it work.
3r - 5s = -14
3r +3s = 56
subtract the second equation from first equation:
You will get -8s = -70
s = 70/8
substitute s in any of the original problem equations to get the value of r.
3r = -14 + 5s
3r = -14 + 5 (70/8)
= (-112 + 350)/8
= 238/8
3r = 119/4
r = 119/12
To verify the values - apply the values to one of the equations to hold true.
3r -5s should be equal to -14
= 3 (119/12) - 5 (70/8)
= 119/4 - 350/8
= (238 - 350) / 8
= -112/8
= -14
So we are good!
Additional note regarding posting of your question:
So, your problem statement should be
3r + 3s = 56
Hope this clarifies!
If you are not allowed to use calculator,
x^2 = 44
x = + sqrt(4 * 11)
-
= + 2 sqrt(11)
-
x+(x-31)+(x-22)= 61
Expand this expression first
ie. x+ x -31 + x - 22 = 61
ie. 3x -31 -22 = 61
3x - 53 = 61
3x = 61 + 53
3x = 114
x = 114/ 3
x = 38
Done!
When two variables are related in such a way that the ratio of their values always remains the same, the two variables are said to be in direct variation.
In simpler terms, that means if A is always twice as much as B, then they directly vary.

Ans : Yes
First option is correct.
It is of the form
(a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2
Small correction Damon:
the formula is
(-b + sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)) / 2a

Hi J,
2y-6x=8
2y=6x+8
y=3x+4
In line 1, you are adding +6x to both sides of equation to get line 2
then inorder to get the value of y, (since you have 2y), divide both sides of the equation by 2.
this will give your line #3
Hope this helps!
hi J
x+6=-5
6=-5
6--5=x
x=-11
For line 1 , add -6 to both sides to get value of x
this will give x +6 -6 = -5 -6
ie. x + 0 = -11
ie X = -11

From previous ans:
2 log (x-1)= log (x+1)
log[(x-1)²] = log(x+1)
Take antilog:
(x-1)²=x+1
Expand and solve quadratic:
x²-3x=0
x(x-3)=0
x=0 is not admissible as solution because log(-1) is undefined.
The remaining answer is therefore x=3.
Total length (given) ie. a+b = 100
a = b + 18
We can rewrite this b = a -18
Now solve it the normal way.
substitute for b in the first equation
a + b = 100
a + a - 18 = 100
2a -18 = 100
2a = 100 + 18
2a = 118
a = 59
To get b:
go to equation and apply value of a in b = a -18
b = 59- 18
ie. b = 41
to verify:
a + b should be = 100
a= 59 b = 41
59 + 41 = 100 !
Bingo!
Done! Hope this helps.
Assuming your problem to be
x - 1/3 = 1/4
(3x -1) / 3 = 1/4
3x - 1 = 3 * 1/4
3x -1 = 3/4
3x = 3/4 + 1
3x = (3+4) / 4
3x = 7/4
x = 7/4 * 1/3
x = 7/12
Hope this helps!

Thank you Dr. Bob. Could you explain why you used double the molecular weight for hydrogen and not for oxygen? I thought that since both are diatomic that I would double it for both molecules.

It makes no difference if you use ln or log unless the exercise tells you to. If you are allowed a calculator then it makes no difference.
In the example above:
3*2^(x-2)+1=100 3*2^(x-2)=99 2^(x-2)=33
If we use ln we get: ln2^(x-2)=ln33
(x-2)ln2=ln33 x= 2+ln33/ln2=7.044
If we used log with base 2 we would get: x-2=log(base2)33 so x= 2+log(base2)33 =7.044
No difference!
You have to apply the indices rule: a^m /a^n= a^(m-n)
so e^(x-7)/e^1= e^(x-8). We then get: e^(x-8)=4 Use ln: x-8= ln4 so x=8+ln4
OK?
You have to know the logarithm rules and definition
Definition: if log(base a)x=b then x=a^b
Rules-I am going to use base 10 but it applies for every base:
1) loga^r=rloga
2)log(a*b)=loga+logb
3)log(a/b)=loga-logb
4)change of base: loga=log(base b)a/log(baseb)10
So the first one I don't understand question.
Second: lnx=2 so x=e^2 (by definition)
Third: log(x+25)-log(2x-7)=1 so by using 3rd law: log[(x+25)/(2x-7)]=1 and then definition; 10^1= (x+25)/(2x-7) so cross multiplying; 10(2x-7)=x+25 so 20x-70=x+25 19x=95 x=5
Hope this helps
I don't get the question-what are the dashes for?
Well, this problem may be correct. If you want to check to see if your answer is correct, you should use that PEMDAS strategy. P=Parenthesis, E= Exponents, M= Multiply, D= Divide, A= Add, S= Subtract. PEMDAS represents what you should do step by step. So, for instance...you do the parenthesis, then you do what is necessary for the next step.
Hope it helps, my friend. :)
