bob is correct, except that you have to subtract the Force*sin(31). It's a poorly worded problem, to say the least.

Ok, that's what I did before. so 2E-11 = x^2/(0.1-x) so x^2 = 2E-12 - 2E-11x But what I don't understand then is how do we solve for x? I used the quadratic equation but when I plugged in those values it gives me 0. So where am I going wrong?

I'm really confused. I've never done a problem like this before. Could you plug in the values for me? It just doesn't make any sense and my teacher won't explain it to me when I ask about it.
But what's Kw? and the value for NH3? Is that just x? So should it be Kw/5.0x10-4 =(x)(x)/(0.1-x)
I'm not sure how to set up the equations using the volumes, and I'm not even sure what givens I'm supposed to use.
If you heated a hydrate too quickly and some of it splattered out of the beaker how would it affect the calclated percent by mass of water and the molecular formula
