I'm sorry, I wasn't sure how to post the picture. The picture I have is horizontal and stretched in the positive direction. The position when the spring is unstrained is stretched to Xo .3m. Then released the spring is at Xf .1m. Stretch to the right.

First thing you want to do is get the letter variable on one side by itself. In order to do this you must subtract two, and whatever you do to one side you must do to the other. u+2=4 u+2-2=4-2; u=2
