Ok, but what is is the equation?
I think I understand how to do this... here's my work. 4a - 2 < a + 1 < 3a + 4 I separated them into two pieces: 4a-2 < a + 1 and a + 1 < 3a + 4 Then, I added two to each side of the first one, and took away 1 from each side of the second one. 4a < a + 3
