I do in this way.... If A(a,0),B(0,b),C(1,1) are collinear, Area(triangle ABC)=0 1/2[X1(y2-y3)+X2(y3-y1)+x3(y1-y2)]=0 [a(b-1)+0(1-0)+1(0-b)=0 [ab-a-b]=0 ab=a+b Dividing throughout by ab we get 1=1/a+1/b Therefore,1/a+1/b=1 Thus proved.....Is it right???
