You didn't do anything wrong. The answer is wrong. For a pH of 8.4, the (H^+) [not OH^-)] must be 3.98E-9. You can prove that by pH = -log(H^+) -8.4 = log(H^+) Take antilog of both sides. 3.98E-9 = (H^+)
These numbers must refer to paragraphs, problems, chapters, or something of that nature where the full problem is found.

OK. I think I see part of the problem. I goofed in my earlier response(s). I said there was only one reaction with electrons on the left side, or a gain of electrons.As you have correctly pointed out, answers A and D have electrons on the left side;
