How would I go about finding the derivative of f(x)=ln(x)(7x-2)^3 first=ln(x) second= (7x-2)^3 Would I do first times the derivative of the second + second times the derivative of the first? If so, what is the derivative of lnx? I'm confused. Thanks for y...

In "Great Expectations", what are Pip's three expectations? I am thinking that his first expectation might be being a blacksmith like Joe. His second could be becoming a gentleman. The third could be his adult life. I'm just not sure, and I feel like I am...

I need to find the slope of the graph of the function at the given point. Function: f(theta)=4sin(theta)-(theta) Point: (0,0) I tried finding the derivative of the function at theta=0, but I got 0 for an answer. I checked the answer in the back of my book...

The water used in many fountains is recycled. For instance, a singel water particle in a fountain travels through an 85 m system and then returns to the same point. What is the displacement of a water particle during one cycle? I don't know where to start...

I need to find the integral: int:(x^2+2x+3)/(x^3+3x+9) dx I think I am supposed to use the rule: int:1/u du=ln|u|+C But I don't know what to do first. Thanks for your help! :-) Oh- and the answer the back of my book gives is (1/3)ln|x^3+3x^2+9x|+C

This is probably a really easy question, but I just don't know how to set it up. An object in equilibrium has three forces exerted on it. A 33 N force acts at 90 degrees from the x-axis and a 44 N force acts at 60 degrees. What are the magnitude and direc...

I am confused as to how light would work in the following question: Some very efficient streetlights contain sodium vapour under high pressure. They produce light that is mainly yellow with some red. Should a community having these lights buy dark blue po...

I suggest trying to repeat after someone that does have a spanish accent. Listen to spanish music for starters. It's fun and when you sing along your accent is improving! :-) Audiobooks are also a good idea. I'm sure you will get better in no time. Buena...

Sorry in advance-- I don't know how to find the answer, but I'm willing to help all I can. First, rearrange the equation of the line to make it y=-3x-1. Since we need to find a line parallel to this one, we know it needs a slope of -3. y=-3x-1 y=mx+b m=sl...

I'm sorry, that just helped explain the plot. The problem is that I need to write 3 journals about this: 1- What does Pip learn in the first "expectation" of his life? How is this helpful to him, both at the time he learns it and later on in the novel? 2-...

First you have to realize that: square root 12x^3/5 and (12x^3/5)^1/2 are equal! :-) Taking the square root of a value is the same as taking the value to the 1/2 power Use this rearrangement to simplify: (12x^3/5)^1/2 Multipy the exponents... 12x^3/10 I'm...

Well for one thing, we know f(x) is equal to y. It is the original function. For f(x)=3x^2 -5 We want to find the y value when x=-4 So just plug in -4 for all the x's and get the y value. f(-4)=3(-4)^2-5 f(-4)=3(16)-5 f(-4)=48-5 f(-4)=43 f(-4)=43=the y va...

Alright. I think I might have gotten the answer. Write back and tell me if you think it's right. If you think I messed up, I'll keep trying. First use ln to rearrange the original: 4^(x+4)=5^(2x+5) ln4^(x+4)=ln5^(2x+5) Put the exponents in front because o...

Both sets of answers are correct. I only wonder if in the second one, you should have used the sq. root property. If you did it that way you would get the exact same answer. I just don't want you to get marked down for not following directions. here's how...

You're welcome. If you think about it, it makes since why you got the same answer. The way you did it was right, just not the method they were asking for. There is never just one way to do things in math. :-)
