The U.S.S. Lollipop is on assignment in the Atlantic Ocean. It travels from a longitude of 70 degrees west to 20 degrees west, along the latitude of 40 degrees north. How far does it travel? (Assume that the radius of the Earth is 6,400 km.) Erm I don't k...

Let a and b be real numbers. Describe the graph of r = a cos (theta + b) as much as possible. (The intent of this question is to get as specific a description as possible that holds for all possible values of a and b.) How would I proceed on this problem?...

Show that r = cos theta is a graph of a circle with diameter 1 from 0,0 to 0,1 How to do this algebraically? I know r = sqrt(x^2 + y^2) so what should i do?

Prove algebraically that |w+z| is less than or equal to |w|+|z| for any complex numbers w and z, where || is the magnitude. After letting w = a+bi and z = c + di and doing some plugging in etc. I got that ac-bd <= b^2 + sqrt (a^2+b^2)(c^2+d^2) + d^2 But i...

Let a and b be real numbers. The complex number 4 - 5i is a root of the quadratic z^2 + (a + 8i) z + (-39 + bi) = 0. What is the other root? I did a lot of work on hand and with wolfram alpha but it doesn't simplify itself easily at all....anyone have any...

Paul revere purposely deemed it as a "massacre" so thus it is not c. People during colonial period actually had a higher literacy rate(by like 205 o.O) so it's not d. A misnomer is a thing that is labeled incorrectly. its not b its A because members of th...

*facepalm* Could you maybe post as a separate question not as a continuous chain? Anyway 4 2/5 = 22/5 4 2/6 = 2
11 years ago
Whoops sorry 4 2/6 = 26/6 22/5 = 6*22 / 30 26/6 = 26*5 / 30 thus we have (6*22 + 26*5 )/30 so we have 262/30 = 8 22/30 = 8 11/15
