I agree with my friend's statement that plastic is one of the worst inventions due to its pervasive negative impacts on both human society and the environment. Plastics are non-biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose, leading to massive pollution in oceans and landfills, which harms wildlife and ecosystems. Additionally, microplastics have infiltrated our food and water supplies, posing potential health risks to humans, including hormone disruption and other health issues. Moreover, the production of plastic contributes to significant greenhouse gas emissions, exacerbating climate change. Overall, while plastic offers convenience, its long-term consequences far outweigh its benefits.
You overhear a friend saying, “Plastic is the worst thing that humans have ever invented.”
In four to five sentences, explain why agree with your friend’s statement. Be sure to include facts that show the range of impacts that plastic has on human society and the environment.

I agree with my friend that plastic is one of the worst things we've ever invented. For starters, plastic doesn't break down easily and can stay in the environment for hundreds of years, which leads to a lot of pollution in oceans and landfills. This pollution can hurt animals who mistake plastic for food or get trapped in it. Plus, tiny bits of plastic, called microplastics, have even been found in our water and food, which could be bad for our health. While plastic is really convenient, the problems it causes for our planet and our health are much more serious.
