I partially agree with my friend's statement that plastic has had significant negative impacts on human society and the environment. Plastic is a widely used material that has contributed to convenience and technological advancements. However, it is also a major environmental pollutant. Single-use plastic items, such as bottles and bags, generate vast amounts of waste that end up in landfills or waterways, harming ecosystems and wildlife. Additionally, plastic production releases greenhouse gases, contributing to climate change. Furthermore, microplastics have been found in the food we consume, posing potential health risks to humans. While plastic has its benefits, its detrimental effects cannot be ignored.
