You might be at risk for an alcohol use disorder if you:
- drink to relax, forget your worries, or improve your mood.
- drink alone.
- lose interest in food as a result of your drinking habits.
While drinking with dinner a few times a week may not in itself indicate a risk for alcohol use disorder, it's important to consider overall patterns of drinking and individual circumstances. If drinking becomes a primary way to cope with emotions or if it negatively impacts other areas of life, it may be a sign of potential issues with alcohol use.
