You have OREGON FEVER! On your voyage west, there are many things you must plan for if you plan to make it to your final destination. Choose one of the following to complete and submit to Mrs. Sterling through webmail for extra credit.
• You are concerned about weather. When is the best time of the year to travel (winter, spring, summer, fall)? Is the terrain easier to handle during dry seasons or rainy? How many miles must you travel? How many miles does your covered wagon travel each day? How many months will this take you?
• You want all the supplies and food that you can carry. What will you choose to bring along? What is necessary for survival? Remember: You only have a 5-by-10 foot area to carry supplies. List your supplies and draw a diagram showing how you will fit everything.
• You are always hungry. You want to create a menu for a week on the trail. You can only use ingredients that you can carry or find on your journey. Create 2 recipes (with measurements) for your menu.
You want to remember your journey forever. Create a journal entry detailing everything you see, experience, and come in contact with. Use historical facts.
