Why AgNO3 and Na2SO4
AgNO3 + Cl^ --> AgCl ppts all of the Cl from NaCl and Cl from BaCl2.
Na2SO4 + Ba^2+ ppts BaSO4 but leaves the NaCl intact with no reaction.
Na2SO4 + Ba^2+ ppts BaSO4 but leaves the NaCl intact with no reaction.
