You add 6.4g g of iron to 27.80mL mL of water and observe that the volume of iron and water together is 28.61mL mL . Calculate the density of iron.

2 answers

density = mass/volume
mass = 6.4 grams
volume = 28.61 mL - 27.80 mL = 0.81 mL
density = 6.4 grams/0.81 mL
density of Fe = 7.9 g/mL
hello there friend actually i have this same kind of question that my teacher gave me 2.5g of iron shot is added to a graduated cylinder containing 45.50 ml of water.the water level rises to the 49.10 ml mark, from this information, calculate the denstiy of iron.so, what i did was just use the formula of d=m/v just use the mass that u add to the water in ur case its 6.4g and divide it by 28.61 which is ur new observed volume and get the density of ur fe like that i hope i helped u and i am right hehe :D i probably wont reply anymore as i don't hangout on this site
