(x+3)/(x^2-x-12) + (2/x + 3)= (1)/(x-4)

1 answer

(X+3)/(X^2-X-12) + 2/(X+3) = 1/(X-4).
(X+3)/(X-4)(X+3) + 2/(X+3) = 1/(X-4)
Multlply both sides by (X-4)(X+3) and get:

X+3+2(X-4) = X+3,
X+3 + 2X-8 = X+3,
X+2X-X = 3-3+8,
2X = 8,
X = 4.

Julie, there's something wrong with your Eq; because when I plug 4 into
your Eq,the 1st and last terms are
undefined. Maxe sure there is no error in your textbook.
