x/3 = x + 10/6
x/3 - x = 10/6
x(1/3 - 1) = 10/6
x = (10/6)/(1/3-1)
x/3 - x = 10/6
x(1/3 - 1) = 10/6
x = (10/6)/(1/3-1)

Simon, you have some major errors.
x/3=(x+10)/6
multipy both sides by 6
2x=x+10
x=10
x/3=(x+10)/6
multipy both sides by 6
2x=x+10
x=10
