[ (x-3)(x+1) / (3x+11) ] = 0

How would I solve this equation?
I don't know how to isolate for x.

Answer: 7

4 answers

Multiply both sides by (3x+11)
(x-3)(x+1) = 0
x=3 or x = -1
I can't do that because the answer is 7
Try 7
[(7-3)(7+1)/(21+11) ] = 0
no way
your problem with 7 put in as x.

49-14-3 32
-------- = ---- = 0
21+11 32
