X/3 - 10 = -12

I need help on this... I got half of it done.

I added ten to both sides and got

X/3 = -2

I’m stuck on this part.

Can someone help me and explain the process? Thanks.

X/3 = -2

Multiply both sides by 3.
multiply both sides by 3

(X/3)(3) = -2(3)

what happens to the 3's on the left side ??
The 3s cancel each other out..then multiple by 3...so x = -6
