x^2+6x=7 i factored it so it's (x+7)(x-1)=0. The answers I got were 7 and 1. Is this correct? Thanks!

well, the (x+7)(x-1)=0 part is right but you must get x = NEGATIVE 7 or x=1.

Look at it this way...

x+7 = 0 or x-1 = 0
-7 -7 +1 +1
x = -7 or x = 1

So be sure to check your signs before you finish!

Hope this helps!
