Write Y= 9/4x+3/2 in standard form..

the answer I got was -9/4+y=3/2

I don't understand why I got it wrong

2 answers

Ax + By = C
is standard form
here you have
(9/4) x - y = -3/2
multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of fractions
9 x - 4 y = -6
You have lost the x variable

from your equation Y= 9/4x+3/2
multiply each term by 4, the LCD

4y = 9x + 6

0 = 9x - 4y + 6 (1)

or 9x - 4y = -6 (2)

Most texts call version (1) general form
and version (2) standard form
