Write the equation so that y is is a function of x.
1) 5x+4y=10
Would you minus the 5 from the 10 first?
and 4y=5-10?
Because she only wants us to write the equation, not exactly solve for it.
And doesn't want us to overthink.

yes but don't forget that there is a x next to the five. so now you have 4y=-5x+10 divide both sides by 4 to get just y= so now the answer is y=-5/4x+10/4
