Write the equation of the line that passes through point (2, –6) with a slope of –5.
I think this is a pretty easy problem, but I'm making it out to be harder than it really is. here is what I got:
y=mx+b
-6=-5(2)+b
-6=-10+b
=10 =10
b=4
the equation that I got is:
y=-5x+4
is this right?
yes, and that is how easy these questions are
BTW from:
-6=-10+b
=10 =10
b=4
the second line should be
-6+10 = b
your line =10 =10 makes no sense
It should have been +10 +10...adding 10 to both sides. oops, thanks for your help though! :)
