One thing I learned in this unit is that Andrew Jackson was known for his strong leadership and his belief in expanding the powers of the presidency. Additionally, I learned about the Trail of Tears, which refers to the forced relocation of Native Americans from their ancestral lands to territories west of the Mississippi River. Lastly, I learned about the concept of Manifest Destiny, which was the belief that it was the destiny of the United States to expand westward across the continent.
