write interval notation for the set {x|-7<x<7} choose a intervel

A)[-7,7)
B)(-7,7)
C)(-7,7]
D)[-7,7]

1 answer

the answer is B. The parentheses represent that it is not inclusive. So since its -7<x<7 (not inclusive on both sides) then you use parentheses on both sides. If it were -7<=x<=7 then it would be D. hopefully that makes sense? :)
