write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point (4,2) and is PARALLEL to the graph of the given equation. (x= -3)
y=2
y=2x+4
y=4x
x=4
i've been working on this problem for a bit and i genuinely don't know how to solve it. any help would be appreciated :)

parallel means that it has the same format as the given equation

just a different number

right so would it be x=4?

Any vertical line has the form x = c, where c is a constant and c is the x value of any point on the vertical line

Any horizontal line has the form y = k, where k is a constant and k is the y value of any point on the horizontal line

Your given equation is x= -3 , thus a vertical line
Now look at your x value of the given point.
