I think the issue of natural resources seems the most important and there are only so many resources available. This allows for the Native Americans to be able to at least negotiate or keep the land that they have left making them still be able to have the potential for a source of income to help them or have a sense of power knowing that what they own is theirs to do what they want. Some of these parts of land that the Native American people have are natural gas, oil, uranium, coal and excellent places for future development of restate so that they negotiate with the dominant groups as it says to help their quality of life. I believe the Native Americans are better off today than they were before because their quality of life is going up and their education and many more things are improving. There are just more opportunities now for the Native Americans than there had been in the past and hopefully that will continue to keep improving as time keeps going.
