In this unit, I learned about transformation and congruence. I discovered that transformations are operations that change the position, size, and shape of a figure. Common types of transformations include translation, reflection, rotation, and dilation. Through exploring these transformations, I understood that congruence refers to the notion that two figures have the same shape and size. In order for two figures to be congruent, their corresponding sides and angles must be equal. Additionally, I learned that congruent figures can be translated, reflected, rotated, or dilated to overlap perfectly. Overall, this unit deepened my understanding of transformations and congruence, as well as their relevance in geometry.
